Welcome Survivors to our First official AFTERSHOCK Status Report of 2019, we will be doing these status reports once every two weeks. This gives us enough time to gather stuff to report on.

Hello Everyone!
Map Progress is off to a great start, ive been focused on the x1_y1 chunk. We have also brought on Dom to help with the maps progress (More info in his portion of the dev log).

There will be screenshots at the bottom of the post for you all to look at, these were taken from chunks x2_y0, x3_y3 and x1_y1

Hey Guys, Dom here!
I’ve recently asked Sam if i could take some time to learn Unreal Engine 4 Level Design so i could help with La Feria’s Creation. Its always been on my bucket list to learn Level Design. Because servers are stable and the upkeep is pretty minimal at the moment i will now be focusing on the map alongside Sam & James.

Hey Boxers, Here's an update on the Launcher.
Not too much to share in screenshots etc… but… the launcher is working well with the API now! Now its about incorporating it into our various features we have been working on.

Hello Survivors!
I have a few cool things to share

  • La Feria

    As announced recently we have decided to focus all of the teams efforts towards the map, its been on the back burner for a while now and we have decided to get James, Dom and myself focused on it. We have a goal to get it to a playable state by February (This isnt testing phase, just 0.10 version of the map, the testing version will be more like 0.3).

    There will be screenshots of the work that we have done at the bottom of the Dev Log.

  • Cutting down trees with an Axe.

    We recently Incorporated trees that can be cut down, so far we have managed to allow the player to cut down any of the trees in the map, we are working on allowing the player to continue to chop the tree to gather logs. We will get back to you all on that in future Dev Logs.

  • Vehicles (first pass)

    Vehicles in the game already? That was fast!
    We honestly as a team decided from day #1 that the game needed vehicles before we launched, no one wants to run around everywhere. Especially with the map with the Scale of La Feria.
    My main focus was making sure that the vehicle had some sort of animation system for when you get in and out. (GIF Attached)
    You can also have passengers get in, it works well but so far no animations for the passengers getting in. This is all replicated over the network, which was the hardest part.
    This system is very easy to incorporate into different vehicle types, there will be boats and helicopters and ill do my best to make sure we have a few ground vehicles and at least one or two boats and helicopters.
    DO NOTE: This is only the first pass, models and animations will most likely be changed over time, this is a rough version of vehicles.
